How to Fix the Internet Explorer Security Vulnerability

Internet Explorer has a major security vulnerability, according to a recent test made by https://www.sapphire.net/penetration-testing/.

We know that many of you use Internet Explorer. There’s a new, major security vulnerability affecting any Internet Explorer users from version 6 through version 9 … that’s most of you, unless you’re running IE 10 on Windows 7 or Windows 8. The security vulnerability involves corrupting the memory of the user’s PC in order to gain access. Someone could take control of your PC this way, so it’s important to fix the problem.

How to Fix the Internet Explorer Security Vulnerability

Microsoft hasn’t released a full security patch for this problem yet, but in the meantime, there’s a workaround available on Microsoft’s site. Just scroll down and click the Fix It button in any version of Windows. Save the .MSI file to any location and then double-click on the file to run it.

Note that people using 64-bit Internet Explorer in 64-bit Windows can’t use this solution. Until a patch is released, use the 32-bit version of IE, or a different browser altogether.
