Ambisonics is a recording and replaying utility software created by Michael Gerzon with the help from Peter Fellgett, David Brown, John Hayes, and John Wright. This consists of a series of replay and recording techniques through the use of multi-channel mixing technology, which is applicable for studio recording and live performance. 2-dimensional or 3-dimensional sound field is represented when sound information is encoded or decoded on different channels. Aside from that, this tool has several advantages when compared to other sound systems. One example of its advantages is the use of all speakers to localize a sound in different directions in a room. Another advantage is the equal sound produced from any direction. It also requires only a minimum of 4 channels of sound information for a full-sphere soundfield, and 3 channels for horizontal soundfield. It is not necessary to position loudspeakers in a rigid setting too, which match speaker configuration to any environment for sound play.
