Minitab is a statistics package often utilized in conjunction with the execution of CMMI, Six Sigma, and other statistics-based process development methods; it is also utilized in supply chain and quality management. It has the capacity to save business data and give statistical regression analysis, graphs and symbols. It contains a worksheet data plotted in rows and columns and includes variable names and extent values. It was created by researchers Barbara F. Ryan, Thomas A. Ryan, Jr., and Brian L. Joiner, at the Pennsylvania State University in 1972. It started as a light version of Omnitab which is a statistical analysis program by NIST. It is distributed by a proprietary company in Pennsylvania, headed in State College with subsidiaries in England, Paris, France and in Australia. Nowadays, Minitab 16, the latest version of the software, is available in 7 languages: English, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, & Spanish. The Minitab Worksheet File is also known as a file having an .mtw extension; it was developed by Minitab.
