I was watching a movie on Netflix and near the end of the movie, the screen froze up and I ultimately had to hard shut down the laptop. When it came back on, the microsoft edge was gone, the start button did not work, and the store button did not work either.

Have you tried restarting your computer? You can hold down the power button to power off your machine. Once it restarts, let me know if the problem is still happening and I can help you out a bit more.
