How to Repair Office files in Windows 10

Fix Windows 10 Office Issues:

1. Run the Update

Running the update is the most basic and fundamental fix to this issue.

  1. Please open your office file, select the Microsoft Office Button.

  2. You will be able to see the Word Option menu, please select it.
  3. Once selected, please select Resources option on the left pane interface.
  4. Under get update menu, select Check for Update button.
  5. The office program will update itself and you should be able to access your files.

2. Run Online Repair

  1. Please right click your Start Menu > and select Programs and Features on the pop-up menu.
  2. Right-click the Microsoft Office program, and select Change.
  3. Choose Repair and Continue option.
  4. Please wait for the loading process to be completed and it should fix the issue.

3. Run CMD and fix it there.

  1. Please go to your Start Menu > type “CMD” without quotation mark> right-click CMD and choose run as Administrator option.
  2. On Command prompt, please type the following line outlined below.

icacls “%programfiles%\Microsoft Office 15” /grant *S-1-15-2-1:(OI)(CI)RX

  1. Please check the command that you have typed in and hit Enter, please open your file again, it should fix the issue.

4. Reinstall your Microsoft Office programs

You can also reinstall your office program to fix the issue.

  1. Please go to your Start Menu, and type Program and Features.
  2. Select your office program and select uninstall. (Before uninstalling the program, please make sure that you have your program’s license key so it will not be hard for you to look it up once you reinstall it.)

5. Scan your Computer System
