Users can create Adobe PDF files using the PDF Maker applet of FileMaker Pro 8.5 and FileMaker Pro Advanced 8.5. It can run on Windows and Mac. In FileMaker’s Adobe PDF Library, users can edit, print, view and email information from your database, in the form of PDF files. This program also enables users to easily share files with others outside their FileMaker groups or other users without FileMaker. To create a PDF file, choose an Adobe function [Document, Security, Initial View] by clicking Options. Choose Security to open, edit, copy or print the document. When done, save the document. The PDF will automatically open so you can view its content. Users can send the file through email as an attachment. Just choose the proper option from the "Save As" box. Data from FilePro can be saved in any mode, as a PDF file, except in the Find mode. How the PDF file will appear depends on the current layout of the document. Users can control the privacy of their PDF files by encrypting them with a password. Runtime Solutions does not support PDF Maker.

FileMaker Pro has features such as Inventory, Projects, Content Management, Contacts and Invoices. The software can run on Windows and Mac. Database files created using FileMaker Pro with versions 7-11 have FP7 extensions. These files store and organize personal or company information by using tables, charts, forms or records. Each record has one or several fields. The latest version FileMaker Pro 12 uses newer format, FMP12, for database files. FP7 can be upgraded to FMP12 by simply opening them in FileMaker Pro 12 where automatic conversion takes place with a backup copy of the FP7 saved during the process. FP5 is the file extension for FileMaker Pro versions 5 and 6. FPT files are database files also created using FileMaker Pro. It contains text data of a memo to describe a database using raw text instead of the standard database field [limited to fewer characters]. FTP files do not have the actual information or content of the database.
