Symantec Endpoint Protection 12 is a high-level anti-virus and Internet security software designed to block malicious attacks from suspicious applications and websites. This anti-malware program claims it has 25% more sensitivity towards detecting new exploits compared to other software with similar features. It integrates with VMWare vShield Endpoint and provides support for installation in the latest release of Windows 8 and the MAC OS 10.8 version known as Mountain Lion. Symantec's Insight and SONAR technologies assist Endpoint Protection in catching malware and spyware by checking only the system's at-risk files based on more than 1,400 signature behaviors displayed by known agents. This cuts down the time it takes to finish the scan by seventy percent. The software quietly runs in the background using up only ten percent of the system's resources while monitoring data transmissions and applications in real time and within the cloud.
