what is a .koob file?
Vijay Sridhara developed the KOOB file extension that is attached to e-book files created using Koober. These KOOB files are also referred to as Koob E-Book Files under the data file category. KOOB files refer to e-book files because they mostly contain the book chapters, book styles, navigation as well as publication data and other information about the e-book. These files can also be read using KoobReader if the Koober application is not installed. The KOOBER application is software that creates and reads e-books. It runs mainly on a Windows operating system and users can easily create e-books, modify them according to their liking with the use of this software. The KoobReader, on the other hand, is included in the KOOBER application and it is mainly used to read KOOB format e-books. The KOOB format is actually “BOOK” read backwards because they mainly deal with e-books. KOOB files allow users to get to know what the e-book is all about.

Koober
Koober is a desktop tool that uses a SQLite database for storing pages and compiling them into eBooks in the KOOB format rather than PDF or EPUB. The software runs on Windows XP and Vista with .NET Framework 4.0 installed. It contains two modules - a Koob Creator and a Koob Reader. Users can add photos, format the text, and customize the skin of their eBook. Meanwhile, the accompanying koob reader allows users to bookmark the page, which they last read, and return to it. Users can go to a specific chapter or page directly through the Table of Contents, through an index search, or through the GoTo feature. In the future, Koober may have the ability to view files in epub format, according to its developer Vijay Sridhara. In addition, users may add a password to their eBooks to protect them from unauthorized edits.
Be careful not to rename the extension on .koob files, or any other files. This will not change the file type. Only special conversion software can change a file from one file type to another.
what is a file extension?
A file extension is the set of three or four characters at the end of a filename; in this case, .koob. File extensions tell you what type of file it is, and tell Windows what programs can open it. Windows often associates a default program to each file extension, so that when you double-click the file, the program launches automatically. When that program is no longer on your PC, you can sometimes get an error when you try to open the associated file.
