You're here because you have a file that has a file extension ending in .txd. Files with the file extension .txd can only be launched by certain applications. It's possible that .txd files are data files rather than documents or media, which means they're not meant to be viewed at all.

A game texture dictionary file can be opened using the TXD Viewer software, an application developed for the PlayStation 2 gaming console, and there are many other programs developed for Microsoft Windows-based systems that can also be used to open and view the content of these game texture dictionary files. Digital bitmap images are archived and stored in a game texture dictionary file, and these small bitmap images are used as texture data implemented into many digital video gaming applications. These digital video game programs that use these game texture dictionary files as reference items are programs implemented with support for the Renderware 3D engine. These bitmap images stored in a game texture dictionary file may be processed with texture-mapping functionalities which can in turn change the visual appearance and textures of the images. The Tony Hawk's American Wasteland video game and the GTA (Grand Theft Auto) application are examples of digital video games that are implemented with support for the Renderware 3D engine as well as support for using the bitmap image content stored in these game texture dictionary files. The TXD file format is used to save these game texture dictionary files, and these files are also affixed with the .txd extension.

Launch a .txd file, or any other file on your PC, by double-clicking it. If your file associations are set up correctly, the application that's meant to open your .txd file will open it. It's possible you may need to download or purchase the correct application. It's also possible that you have the correct application on your PC, but .txd files aren't yet associated with it. In this case, when you try to open a .txd file, you can tell Windows which application is the correct one for that file. From then on, opening a  .txd file will open the correct application. Be careful not to rename the extension on .txd files, or any other files. This will not change the file type. Only special conversion software can change a file from one file type to another.

A file extension is the set of three or four characters at the end of a filename; in this case, .txd. File extensions tell you what type of file it is, and tell Windows what programs can open it. Windows often associates a default program to each file extension, so that when you double-click the file, the program launches automatically. When that program is no longer on your PC, you can sometimes get an error when you try to open the associated file.
