what is a .bok file?
Files with the BOK extension are also called TestGen Testbank files, and these are classified as data files that contain data referenced by associated applications when required. These BOK files can be created using the TestGen software, an intuitive program developed by Pearson Education to provide educators and parents among other users with a convenient way of developing test materials like questionnaires and survey forms among others. The data stored in these BOK files are the set of questions or problems entered by the author of the BOK files using the TestGen application. These questions and problems are referenced by the TestGen program when the user requires access to these pieces of data via the associated integrated features of the TestGen software. This program can be installed in Microsoft Windows-based systems, and there are also versions for Mac platforms, which means users of these systems can install this software to begin creating test development projects using the TestGen software. These BOK files are also implemented with file compression standards proprietary to Pearson Education and are mostly bundled with CDs, DVDs and other distribution formats of packaged test materials developed using the TestGen software.

what is a file extension?
A file extension is the set of three or four characters at the end of a filename; in this case, .bok. File extensions tell you what type of file it is, and tell Windows what programs can open it. Windows often associates a default program to each file extension, so that when you double-click the file, the program launches automatically. When that program is no longer on your PC, you can sometimes get an error when you try to open the associated file.
